Our Story

“A Pioneer of New York’s Hummusiot”

- New York Times

Located in the Upper West Side, Hummus Place is a Mediterranean eatery from the esteemed Chef Ori Apple. Inspired by street cuisine from Greece, Israel, Lebanon and much of the Eastern Mediterranean, we’re proud to serve authentic, home-cooked food with a fresh, modern twist.

Founded in 2004 in the East Village, Hummus Place has grown and evolved throughout Manhattan to our current location at 305 Amsterdam Ave. Beginning with only three hummus dishes, our menu has expanded into a variety that has something for everyone. Certified kosher by the United Kosher Supervision, the majority of our menu is vegan and gluten-free. We serve organic eggs and source fresh ingredients from local suppliers.

While our warm and inviting dining room has been a post-show tradition for audiences at the nearby Beacon Theatre, we have shifted primarily to takeout and delivery during the Covid-19 health crisis. The safety of our team and customers are our top priority so every aspect of our operation is cleaned and sanitized thoroughly and frequently. We love our Hummus Place family and, with your support, we look forward to being a staple of the Upper West Side for years to come.
